Simply put, at Brooklyn Cockapoos, you can purchase a puppy at a very discounted rate which we would co-own under contract. We would breed said dog during the length of the contract, and when the contract is fulfilled, we would pay to have the pet fixed and sign over all ownership. Additionally, if you live within 2 hours of our location and you have an approved application, you qualify to be a guardian home to our puppy.

The Basics
Raising Males:

Feasibility:
Males are very easy to provide a home for.

All you have to do:
Make them available to us when needed until the age of 5 or 6, depending on health.

Conditions:
If you are more than an hour away from our current location, we would keep the dog for 5 to 7 days during the breeding period.
Raising Females:

Feasibility:
Females require a bit more attention and care.

Heat:
If a male dog is present at the time of guardianship of the female, all male dogs must be fixed. It is your responsibility to make sure she does not get pregnant while in heat.

Conditions:
We agree to breed females 3 times.

Breeding:
When the female is ready to breed she will come back to us for 5 to 6 days for breeding, then go back home for the pregnancy period (55 days).
*All vet fees associated with breeding or the puppies will be our responsibility.*

Delivery:
A week prior to delivery, she will come back and stay with us for 6 weeks while she nurses and weans the puppies.
*This makes for a great time to plan vacations and get free boarding.*

What happens next:
When the breeding is finished, Brooklyn Cockapoos will pay to have her fixed, and she will retire to spend the rest of her days with you.
*All ownership will be transferred to you after 3 breeding periods.*
What is heat?
Females typically come into heat the first time between 9 to 10 months old (may vary per dog). Afterwards, the female will be in heat every 6 months.
